Times Flying

Wow, I can’t believe November is over, and I know December will go by even faster. I’ve had a few bumps in the road these last few months, and I haven’t gotten my momentum back. I haven’t been sketching, and I haven’t been creating new portfolio pieces… sigh. :( One of my regrets is that I couldn’t participate in the Folktale challenge that happened in November. But December is a new month, and all I need to do is one small thing a day to get back into it!

I do have a few good things that happened, and I’d like to share them. One night, as I was doom-scrolling through all the amazing work other illustrators were creating, I stumbled upon a submission call for a mentorship program hosted by ITSme. ITSme works in partnership with some amazing agencies, and the program matches you with an agent to work with one-on-one for 12 weeks. I jumped at the chance, and I was accepted!!!! So, from January to March, I’ll be hustling and taking my career to the next level. I can’t wait, and I’ll be sure to write about it and let you know how it’s going.

The second good thing that happened was I joined Mable Tan’s surface pattern design challenge back in September. It gave me some really great starting points to develop my own patterns that I could sell. They still need work, and I’ll work on them slowly, but here are a few of my favs.

Thanks for joining me! I hope everyone has an amazing December.
Until next month –
